Privacy Policy

BitePlan is designed for beginner freshwater bass anglers. This release does not create user accounts and does not sync your tacklebox, trip notes, badges, or progress to a BitePlan server.

Location

When you choose “Use spot,” BitePlan asks your browser or native app for your current location. Location is used to load weather and run a spot check for nearby public waterbody data. You can keep using the app without granting location by entering conditions manually.

Local Storage

Your tacklebox, trip notes, progress, badges, and recent conditions are stored on your device using local storage or native preferences. Clearing browser/app data may remove them.

Weather and Map Providers

BitePlan uses Open-Meteo for weather and geocoding. If configured by Runner Concepts, BitePlan may use Mapbox for place search. Spot checks may use OpenStreetMap-derived data through an Overpass API endpoint.

Optional AI Coach

If Runner Concepts configures the AI coach and you choose “Coach me,” BitePlan may send the current plan snapshot, conditions, and spot-check summary to the configured AI provider to generate a short beginner-friendly explanation. The app still works without AI, and your tacklebox and trip notes remain local in this release.
